Patch 0.2 of Path of Exile 2: The Hunt introduced 12 unique charms. Some are valuable additions to your build, while others are too situational to justify using. In this PoE 2 Charm tier list, we’ll rank them based on utility, market price, and overall usefulness across builds.

PoE 2 Charm Tier List - Best Unique Charms in Dawn of the Hunt (0.2.0)

In Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt (Patch 0.2.0), Grinding Gear Games introduced a new layer of character customization with the addition of 12 unique charms. These charms offer passive effects that trigger under specific conditions, ranging from defensive responses to offensive boosts. While some charms provide consistent value across various builds, others are highly situational or designed for niche mechanics. The rarity and method of acquisition also vary, with most charms obtainable from rare monsters and a few requiring specific mechanics like Wisp possession. Below is a breakdown of each unique charm ranked by overall usefulness, market value, and how practical they are in real gameplay scenarios.

S-Tier Charms

These charms are highly valued for their strong effects and broad applicability across many builds.

1. Rite of Passage Golden Charm

Effect:

Implicit: 15% increased Rarity of Items found
Fixed Modifiers: Possessed by Spirit Of The Bear OR Ox OR Serpent for 10-20 seconds on use

This is the most expensive and sought-after charm by far. The spirit possession grants huge bonuses such as movement speed, attack/cast speed, critical strike chance, and even defensive boosts — all depending on the spirit type. It fits both farming and combat-focused builds. It only drops from possessed monsters, making it rare, and it cannot be obtained with a Chance Orb. The high cost (around one Mirror of Kalandra) reflects both its power and rarity.

2. The Fall of the Axe Silver Charm

Effect:

Implicit: Your Speed is Unaffected by Slows
Fixed Modifiers: Grants Onslaught during effect

Onslaught is a powerful buff that increases speed across the board. This charm activates in many common situations, especially in maps with slow effects. It works well across a wide range of builds and is priced accordingly (around 10 Divine Orbs). It can also be chanced from a regular Silver Charm, making it accessible through crafting.

3. For Utopia Stone Charm

Effect:

Implicit: Cannot be Stunned
Fixed Modifiers: Defend with 200% of Armour during effect

This charm provides a strong layer of defense exactly when you're most vulnerable - during a stun. It’s especially useful in high-end content like Simulacrum where stuns are common. The defensive value and general utility make it a popular and expensive pick (10+ Divine Orbs). It’s also viable in many build types, especially those that stack armor.

A Tier Charms

These charms are reasonably priced and offer moderate benefits, often useful in specific builds or situations.

4. Forsaken Bangle Amethyst Charm

Effect:

Implicit: +18% to Chaos Resistance
Fixed Modifiers: 15-25% increased Duration, 50% of Chaos damage you prevent when Hit Recouped as Life and Mana during effect

Chaos resistance is often hard to cap, and this charm helps offset that, while also providing some sustain. The added recoup makes it slightly better than regular A Charms. It’s not game-changing, but it’s practical. Prices vary from 50 Chaos Orbs to a couple of Divines depending on rolls.

5. Nascent Hope Thawing Charm

Effect:

Implicit: Grants Immunity to Freeze
Fixed Modifiers: 20-25% Chance to gain a Charge when you Kill an Enemy, Energy Shield Recharge starts on use

Builds that rely on energy shield benefit from this charm's recharge trigger. It also prevents being stuck in dangerous freeze situations, especially during strongbox encounters. Since it’s easy to activate and offers consistent value, it’s used in many builds — especially for mapping. The cost is around 1 Divine Orb.

B Tier Charms

These charms are affordable but too situational or weak to be widely used. Prices range from 1 to 5 Exalted Orbs:

6. Valako's Roar Topaz Charm

Effect:

Implicit: +25% to Lightning Resistance
Fixed Modifiers: 30-40% increased Charges gained, Grants a Frenzy Charge on use

While Frenzy Charges are powerful, the charm requires you to take lightning damage first, which limits when it activates. This makes it unreliable unless you're deliberately taking lightning damage — which most builds try to avoid.

7. Breath of the Mouintains Sapphire Charm

Effect:
Implicit: +25% to Cold Resistance
Fixed Modifiers: 10-15% reduced Charges per use, Grants a Power Charge on use

Like Valos' Roto, this charm is tied to a specific type of incoming damage. If you don’t frequently take cold hits, it won’t trigger. Power Charges are valuable, but the activation condition makes it inconsistent.

8. Ngamahu's Chosen Ruby Charm

Effect:

Implicit: +25% to Fire Resistance
Fixed Modifiers: 30-40% increased Charges, Grants up to your maximum Rage on use

Rage is a strong damage boost, but again, the activation condition is restrictive. However, this charm has potential in fire-based or self-damage builds. If it interacts well with certain ascendancies or mechanics, it could be quite strong in the right setup.

9. Beira's Anguish Dousing Charm

Effect:

Implicit: Grants Immunity to Ignite
Fixed Modifiers: 20-25% Chance to gain a Charge when you kill an enemy, Ignite Enemies in Presence as though dealing Fire damage equal to 500% of your maximum Life when used

Most commonly used in Infernalist builds, where the character self-ignites to trigger high damage. Outside of that specific archetype, it’s rarely used. For those builds, though, it’s a key component.

10. The Black Cat Grounding Charm

Effect:

Implicit: Grants Immunity to Shock
Fixed Modifiers: 10-20% increased Duration, Lightning Damage of Enemies Hitting you is Unlucky during effect

This charm provides a defensive boost by making enemies hit less effectively, but it only activates when shocked. While rare, it can be tactically useful in lightning-heavy maps or boss fights. Still, the condition makes it unreliable for general use.

11. Arakaali's Gift Antidote Charm

Effect:

Implicit: Grants Immunity to Poison
Fixed Modifiers: Recover Life equal to 15-20% of Mana Flask's Recovery Amount when used, Recover Mana equal to 15-20% of Life Flask's Recovery Amount when used

Too situational and outclassed by other recovery options. It requires good flasks and being poisoned, which most builds actively try to avoid. Life leech and regen are more consistent alternatives.

12. Sanguis Heroum Staunching Charm

Effect:

Implicit: Grants Immunity to Bleeding
Fixed Modifiers: Creates Consecrated Ground on use, Gains 0.15-0.20 Charges per Second

Consecrated ground gives life regen, which is helpful, but the charm only activates when bleeding. It also requires you to stand still to benefit, which doesn't suit most fast-paced builds. It recharges passively, which is nice, but not enough to make it stand out.
