Diablo 4 Season 14 is shaping up to be one of the most volatile and unpredictable metas in recent memory, defined by a single, potentially game-breaking bug that threatens to crown an unlikely king. Read this D4 Season 14 build tier list, ranking the best classes and builds.

Some builds have risen to the top thanks to powerful new item synergies, while others have fallen after major nerfs to previously dominant mechanics. Whether you're planning to push Pit Tier 150, speed farm endgame content, dominate leaderboards, or simply find the strongest class to start the season with, choosing the right build can make a huge difference. In this Diablo 4 Season 14 Tier List, we'll break down the best builds for every class based on PTR performance, endgame potential, survivability, boss damage, and overall efficiency.
The Death Trap / Pen Shot combo is currently the only build hitting 150 — the current cap. However, this is flagged as a bugged build. It exploits interactions that the creator suspects Blizzard will nerf before live. If it survives to live, Rogue dominates. Without the bug: Pen Shot (Eagle Horn) clears 132, which is still near the top, tied with Sorc. Twisting Blades also received buffs worth noting.
New mythic synergy: Air Perdition nerfed, but Caldesann offers extra potency as a replacement. Doom Bringer is being run in the top build.
Whirlwind Barb remains the king of consistent, high-floor pushing. Grandfather Mythic is the standout buff for S14: +34% crit chance compensates for losing Air Perdition and Starless Skies. Sealig tech still works, but survivability took a hit — it’s now rough for casual players to feel immortal. Build now requires heavy Max Resource rolls (chest, helm) to regain tankiness — higher gear barrier. Enduring Faith took a big nerf in how it calculates damage. Task Helm gives CDR, easier to roll now → better Wrath of the Berserker uptime.
Alternatives: Charge Barbarian, Ancients variant, Rend DoT build all viable.
Most builds scale around lightning mechanics. Azurath + Signet combo provides big pop explosions for faster pack clearing. Vortex + Thul (freeze) combo gives 30% bonus multipliers and ramps quickly. Good for pit pushing if you can gather enemies efficiently. Relatively flexible — poison variants also viable.
Pushing-oriented, not as effective for speed farming.
Ball Lightning has been heavily nerfed. Lightning builds (except Crackling Energy) took a huge hit. Firewall DoT is the new king. Slower playstyle but effective for pushing. Mythic buff is massive: Raiment now gives 65% damage reduction — best survivability in the game. Stack another HP-based DR aspect on top → Sorcs are tanks in S14. Crackling Energy is still somewhat viable if you want a lightning variant. Meteor build also available. Trade-off: Slower than Ball Lightning was. No more 150-second runs.
Clash received an omega nerf — resolve stacking removed via Glint’s Anvil changes. Shield of Retribution (Thorns): Incredibly strong for leveling, but endgame feels slow because the shield projectile moves too slowly. Ordan: The most “chill” build — literally a walking simulator. Was at ~120 before PTR resets. Charge Paladin got buffed from S12 and is viable for clear speed. Since you’re scaling Thorns anyway, you can swap between Charge and Retribution without changing much gear. Glint’s Anvil still useful for damage reduction on other setups.
Rock Splitter with Sep’s Own Tech is currently the rank #1 build — a basic attack build. Counter Swarm also available. Flexibility is the upside: You can scale generic Jaguar multipliers + generic damage (e.g. Conceited) and play many variants. Almost any build can run freeze to push higher, but that kills speed farming fun — which is why most people play Spiritborn. Had higher clears before PTR reset (possibly 125+), but data was wiped.
Golem is technically the #1 Necro build right now. Blood Wave is potent but: loses Glint’s Anvil → feels incredibly squishy. Blood Wave has been good for multiple seasons — familiar playstyle. The two builds were trading places back and forth on PTR (server laggy). If you’re a Necro main, lock in Golem or Blood Wave.
Warlock is the brand new class but lands at the bottom of the tier list. Fallen Lunatic is the best build currently. Apocalypse is also solid — if you enjoyed Fallen Lunatic, you can lock in again with updated mythics. New mythics buff all powers numerically (e.g., Pain Gorger 125→163), but no brand new uniques or aspects for Warlock. All changes are just numerical — nothing “super crazy brand new.”
