PoE 2 Atalui's Bloodletting Drop (How To Get) & Best Uses on Builds

Atalui's Bloodletting has rapidly become one of the most talked-about support gems in Path of Exile 2, especially since the 0.3 patch introduced new lineage supports. Here, we are going to discusss what the gem does, why it’s so powerful, how to use it, which builds most benefit, and how to get it.

PoE 2 Atalui's Bloodletting - How To Use & Get?

Atalui's Bloodletting is a new lineage support gem added in the 0.3 patch, used to convert the mana cost of supported skills to life cost, and grant additional physical damage scaling based on the life spent to cast. Its introduction created a whole new layer of build possibilities for both spellcasters and attack builds, especially those looking to scale life costs for massive benefits.

Atalui's Bloodletting Effect & Why It is Good

The gem’s effect is straightforward but extremely strong: mana cost is converted to life cost for supported skills, and you gain 2% of that life cost as extra physical damage per 10 life spent. For example, if your skill costs 1,000 life, you gain 200% of that as extra physical damage. When paired with conversion mechanics like Embitter, this physical damage can be converted to cold damage, resulting in huge scaling opportunities.

The lineage support gem is broken now because you can get hundreds of gain as extra physical, which, when paired with Embitter, conveniently becomes cold damage. The downside is that life costs can get extremely high, so recovery becomes an important aspect of the setup.

How To Use Atalui's Bloodletting in PoE 2 0.3?

Atalui’s Bloodletting is typically socketed into your main damage skill, replacing a traditional support or mana-based setup. It is especially effective in spells with high base cost, or builds designed to stack life and benefit from high life cost scaling.

To mitigate the high life cost, players often use the Undying Hate timeless jewel. This keystone provides regeneration based on your life cost, and when paired with Zealot’s Oath, you can build up thousands of life regeneration, which also regenerates your energy shield when life is full. Scaling life costs also works nicely with scaling life for Blood Mage.

For cold-infused Spark, for example, you get a whole bunch of damage and a whole bunch of projectiles if you can cold infuse. Early game, you might use Call of the Brotherhood or Three Dragons, but lategame you can run Atalui’s Bloodletting plus Embitter and drop Call of Brotherhood/Three Dragons entirely. With any of these, Spark freezes for itself, generating infusions through Siphon Elements or Snap.

A typical single-target loop uses Frost Bomb with +limit on the tree and Spell Cascade support to generate multiple infusions with a single cooldown. With a couple infusion tree nodes, this is actually enough to sustain large damage windows before needing to generate more.

Best Builds To Use Atalui's Bloodletting

Blood Mage Spark - Blood Mage Spark is the poster child for Atalui’s Bloodletting. Players report Spark will forever be a top skill, but cold-infusion has brought it to another level. Cold-infused Spark is a strong skill at baseline and can be workable throughout progression, even before the full regen tech is online.

Fireball Blood Mage - Fireball Blood Mage setups also scale into the endgame with Atalui’s Bloodletting, pushing life cost extremely high to get both massive recovery and damage. This build leverages Blood Sacrifice to convert life spent into regeneration, allowing for aggressive life spending without dying.

Bleed/Poison Proliferation Titans and Warriors - On melee or attack builds, Bleed/Poison Proliferation Titans and Warriors have found success with Atalui's Bloodletting, swapping it in for clear or bossing. These builds scale gem levels and life cost to increase bonuses to an insane amount, while using tech like Fast Metabolism to stay at full HP.

Other spells or attacks with naturally high cost or the ability to convert physical to another element (like cold) benefit the most. Some players experiment with Cast on Crit setups to further multiply the effects.

How To Get Atalui's Bloodletting in PoE 2 0.3 - Drop Location & Drop Rate

Atalui's Bloodletting drops from Estazunti's Vault, a unique "pseudo-citadel" encounter on your Atlas. To access these, look for maps with a red boss icon and meet the activation requirements, which typically involve activating nearby henchstones or finding keys in surrounding maps. Upon clearing the vault and defeating the boss, there is a strong chance to receive a lineage support gem.

Multiple players report that every time they've completed a Sealed Vault, they received a lineage gem, though it might not always be Atalui’s Bloodletting specifically. Sometimes, you may get other lineage gems like Paquate’s Pact. While some players feel the drop rate is near 100%, others have done several vaults without getting the exact one they wanted, so it’s likely a guaranteed lineage drop but not always the specific gem.

Buying Idols of Estazunti and running the map yourself is currently a reliable way to target farm this support. Prices for Atalui's Bloodletting and vault keys can fluctuate based on demand and supply, and at the moment, the gem is considered expensive on the market.
