ACNH Tomato Festival is a brand new Nook Shopping seasonal event that was added in the 2.0 Free Update last year, this event is based on the real-world La Tomatina festival that is celebrated yearly in a town of Spain, people who participated in the activity throwing tomatoes and get involved in the tomato fight only for entertainment. La Tomatina is held on the last Wednesday of August since 1945, and in 2022, the festival will start on August 31. In Spain, the festival will be celebrated for one week in honor of the town's patron saints, Luis Bertran and the Mare de Deu dels Desemparats.
When will Tomato Festival start and end in ACNH? In New Horizons, the Tomato Festival will begin on August 20 and end on August 31, lasting 12 days.
How to Get ACNH Tomato Festival Tee - Tomato Festival Items in ACNH
Unlike standard events in Animal Crossing New Horizons, Nook Shopping seasonal events are not celebrated through in-game activities, but players can purchase one or several unique items directly and use them in the game. The description of the Tomato Festival in the game is as below:
“This festival, inspired by one that originated in Spain, has participants tossing squished tomatoes at one another for a splat-filled hour between 11 AM and noon. Better put on a Tomato Festival tee quick!”
The Tomato Festival Tee is a new 2.0 seasonal item, it is a t-shirt in red, with a big tomato image print on the front of the tee, and you can wear it on the day of the festival. To obtain this Nook Shopping seasonal item, from August 20 to August 31, 2022, players should go to the Nook Stop in Resident Services, then buy the Tomato Festival Tee with 1000 Animal Crossing bells.
